Congratulations to Marubeni-Komatsu apprentice Steffan McGrath who was recently presented with a ‘Stars of the Future’ Plant Mechanic Apprenticeship Regional Award. The award which is given by the CPA (Construction Plant-Hire Association) recognises excellence amongst Apprentice Plant Mechanics from around the country. Steffan aged 19, who is based at our Cardiff Depot was nominated by Stafford College where he attends each term on a block release. He is studying there for an NVQ in Plant Maintenance and Repair.

Steffan who joined Marubeni-Komatsu in September 2011, received his award from former Land Speed record holder, Richard Noble OBE at the recent Plantworx event at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. Apart from a commemorative certificate, Steffan also received a glass star and a £500 voucher towards the cost of tools and work equipment.
So a big well done to Steffan, Stafford College and his colleagues at Marubeni-Komatsu.
